In 2020 Chester Zerum was haunted by a monstrous being named Barbatachtian, or so he thought. It turns out his Uncle Frederick, trapped in Purgatory, was the real menace, orchestrating a convoluted series of events involving Chester, Barbatachtian, and the Archangel Michael in the form of a teddy bear to escape Purgatory and trap Chester's soul forever in Hell.
Somehow, Chester is alive again, and this time... he just wants his life to go back to normal. But upon taking a trip to Wales, he accidentally crosses paths with something rather insidious that is going to throw his already crazy life into a sharp new perspective.
